Hi there !
Let's start with a little introduction: my name is Anastasia, I'm 24 (soon to be 25) and I'm from London but I live in the South of France. Or at least I used to because recently my boyfriend Ismail and I left our little flat with a one-way ticket to Thailand 😬. As you might have guessed, I'm passionate about travel and photography but not only! I love wine, preferably red, hiking, Kdramas (sorry not sorry), cats and big dogs, nature and cheese.
Blonde on the Road is a space to share my travel experiences and photos with friends, family, fellow travellers, and random readers. As mentioned above, I love photography and creating. I don't know why, but there's something therapeutic about creating and designing your website (I loved working on Canva when I was a student, and still do!). A blog seemed therefore like the best way to bring everything together! I also want Blonde of the Road to be a place where fellow travellers can share their experiences and advice with the ups and downs because we all know that what we see and often share on social media doesn't depict a realistic image of travelling.
One of the reasons that pushed me to create Blonde on the Road was Reddit. I am part of a subreddit for travellers and I sometimes post pictures and how-to guides about places I have visited. To tell the truth, when I first posted on Reddit, I wasn't expecting much, I just wanted to share my photos and experiences but I was pleasantly surprised by the reactions to my posts! I received all sorts of questions about the destinations I shared and comments from people who simply liked the beauty of the places or for whom they brought back a good memory. I also love giving travel advice to friends and family or anyone who wants information about a destination I've had the chance to visit, not because I think I know everything, but for the exchange that it engenders.
It is indeed all these exchanges between travellers, between individuals, that made me want to create Blonde on the Road because I hope to create a community, big or small, around what drives us to grow, discover and love, and that is travelling. ♡
